The Miss Universe 2006 pageant took place in Los Angeles, California on Sunday,
July 23rd in the Shrine Auditorium. This was the first time since 1998 that
the pageant has been held in the United States, and the second time that it
has been held in Los Angeles, having previously been held there in 1990.Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza (Miss Puerto Rico), won the event. The first runner-up
was Kurara Chibana (Miss Japan), the second runner-up was Lauriane Gillieron
(Miss Switzerland), thrid runner-up was Lourdes Arevalos (Miss Paraguay) and
fourth runner-up was Tara Conner (Miss USA). Lia Andrea Ramos (Miss Philippines)
was picked as this year’s Miss Photogenic in an internet poll, Kurara Chibana of
Japan won Best National Costume, and Angela Asare of Ghana won Miss Congeniality.Acting Career:
She began her studies at the New York Film Academy, one of the most prestigious schools of acting, producing and directing and at the same time getting a proposal from one of the most prestigious acting and Production Company in Latin America, Televisa.
That proposal led Zuleyka to Mexico where besides her acting career, allowed her to host the Hey awards, honoring the National Association of Music, and produced by Televisa.
She has worked on several soap operas, among which are:

On the other hand, she was a TV Host on “Despierta America” – one of the top shows at Univision. She also participated on a few successful television programs like “Mira Quien Baila” and “Dancing with the Stars” this last one in Mexico City.
Once again thanks to her versatility, charisma, beauty, talent and Latin spark; Univision Network takes her to the small screen to present a fresh, informative, guiding, dynamic and always entertaining women’s variety show “La Revista de Zuleyka”. Her show covers a vast variety of topics addressed to the modern woman. Although the show doesn’t air any longer in the US, still runs in Latin America via Glitz network.

Envisioning a career as an entrepreneur incorporates she incorporates her own company, ZRM Group Inc.
She has her own clothing line for girls and young women exclusively distributed by the store chain Kress in the entire island of Puerto Rico. Also Kress distributed with great success her fragrance line: Zuleyka, Zuleyka 2010 and the latest … Karisma.
First launched her clothing line, then her fragrance collection and now Zuleyka Rivera launches her “ZK” swimsuit collection. Zuleyka worked hand on hand with a talented team of professionals and experts in the field of fashion to bring her ideas to create the perfect swimsuit garment with a sexy style that surrounds and tightens the body to mold the figure of any woman.
